For the residents of La BĂ©rarde, literally their world has collapsed. Unfortunately, the world just keeps spinning and next Saturday La Marmotte is on the program. The emergency situation does not appear to be going to affect the continuation of the gran fondo.

For those who missed it: the mountain village of La BĂ©rarde (not far from Bourg d'Oisans) was completely wiped out by a mudslide last week. The Col du Lautaret and Col du Glandon remained temporarily closed.
From the annual rankings on Strava, we can see that there is already full cycling over the Col du Glandon and Croix de Fer. A sweeper truck has made the road passable again.
There's more good news. The Galibier is also being cycled to the top, according to the segment on Strava. Officially, the col is not yet open, and the photos show why. So there is still some work to do, but it is expected to be fine.

So everything seems to be coming together just in time, although the weather forecast for Saturday is still somewhat doubtful. But the uncertainty is still very high, according to the plume forecast. So it can still go either way.
