Laverack and Pauchet winners GF Mt Ventoux

The well-known British YouTuber and ex-pro Ed Laverack (UK) has won the GF Mont Ventoux for the first time in his career. Among the ladies, Frenchwoman Aurore Pauchet took the win. Dutch top rider Martha Maltha finished second among the ladies, winning in her age category.

Ed Lavereck winning GF Mont Ventoux

In fine weather conditions, 1959 riders (m/f) reached the line atop Mont Ventoux. Another 1,721 riders completed the medio fondo. According to the event's time registration, Lavereck needed exactly 58 minutes and 21 seconds for the final climb from Bédoin. That's 3 seconds less than the KOM currently held by none other than Tadej Pogacar. It must be said however, that in the gran fondo the riders didn't start in the village.

Laverack recently tried to take back the KOM on Sa Calobra from Pidcock but was unsuccessful. The Brit attacked at the foot of the final climb from the favorite group and managed to catch an early attacker just 1 km from the finish. Needless to say, he was quite delighted.

'Couldn't have asked for better legs and the power I was able to hold for that final hour, in all my years of racing I've actually never done a proper summit finish as big, as high or as long as that' - Laverack on Instagram

Julien Berard (FR) finished second in the men's event, with Leo Belchi (FR) in third.

Pauchet supreme

In the women's race, winner Aurore Pauchet (FR) was unbeatable. She needed only 1h17 for the climb, 8 minutes less than number two Martha Maltha. At the finish line, the gap between the two was 13 minutes in favor of the Frenchwoman. Marion Revault (FR) finished third at 22 minutes.
