Maximum safety measures at the Marmotte Granfondo Alpes
Since the date of the Marmotte Granfondo Alpes (the Marmotte) has been moved to September 5, organizer Golazo will continue with the preparations. No effort has been spared to ensure the safety of participants and staff. We spoke to the organization about this.

To make the 2020 edition possible, Golazo had to make a lot of adjustments. Let's list the most important ones:
- Stay at home with any complaints that may indicate corona.
- The number of participants is limited to 5000.
- It is not possible to register manually on the spot.
- From 7:00 - 7:50 the start will take place in a gradual flow of participants.
- At the supplies only water and sports drinks are available, no solid food (CK: you get a bar/ bars from the organization, but arrange your own food).
- Wearing a mask is mandatory at the start, at the start, at the supplies and at the finish as soon as the social distancing of 1 meter cannot be respected. Masks are not provided by the organization, please bring your own.
- Showers and changing rooms are not available at the finish.
The organization emphasizes that the safety regulations are strictly adhered to, but that the success of the measures depends on everyone's individual behaviour. Important: read all the information in the newsletter below!
Contrary to what has been customary in recent years, the Marmotte is not organized on Sundays, but on Saturdays. This is because another event takes place on Sunday in Bourg d'Oisans. This change does not affect the route and the usual road closures. These are as usual.
The intention is to return next year on the first Sunday of July. However, this is not certain yet, as the Tour which will start 2 weeks earlier than usual has to be taken into account.
The Marmotte will therefore continue under the reservation of a new corona wave. There are still plenty of starting tickets available! If you want to ride this beautiful gran fondo this year, sign here.
