• Of course you know the CWIX 500, the gravity index for gran fondos. And you probably also know the CWIX 250: the hit list for sportives. As the number of gravel rides in our calendar keeps increasing, we have decided to come up with 2 new lists soon: the Gravel 500 (for gravel gran fondos) and the Gravel 250 for gravel rides.

• Cycling Classics France reports that for the first time in history at La Marmotte the ladies will be classified in the same categories as the men. These are: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70+. The parent company Golazo is also becoming increasingly visible. Not Etixx, but Aptonia, a Decathlon brand, will offer a large part of the sports nutrition and drinks. Something that was already the case with Golazo sportives for some time.

• A classic. on-and-off story for the French gran fondo Corima Drôme Provençale. This event was definitively disbanded in 2020, but would then be organized again in 2021. However, due to corona, this will not happen. However, in 2022 the organization will try again.

• New gran fondo's every year in the Pyrenees. The newest addition listens to the name La Mousquetaire. The longest distance is a real beast, it counts 195 km with almost 5000 meters of climbing. And entirely according to the latest fashion in the world of gran fondos, there is a gravel stage (64 km / 1850 hm) the day before. The dates: 21 and 22 August. Be quick, because there are only 200 places for the gran fondo.
