Win a free ticket for the Haute Route Ventoux!

The Haute Route most likely doesn't need an introduction. We know this Swiss organizer of 3, 5 and 7 day races for amateur cyclists of course from the Haute Route Alpes. But it doesn't stop there. Haute Route also organizes similar rides in Mexico, Brazil, Oman but also Switzerland, Dolomites and the Pyrenees. And last but not least: the Haute Route Ventoux. We'll introduce you to that one in this article.

The event will occur

Corona or no corona, this event will occur between 2 and 4 October. Three days of cycling in a beautiful environment, where the weather's usually still very good in early October. The start and finish are every day in the Mecca of cycling: Bédoin. On Friday, the feat starts off with a ride of about 120 km / 3100 hm which ends with the Ventoux climb from Sault. The next day there's similar ride, which includes the beautiful Gorges de la Nesques. The day ends with the climb from Malaucène. On Sunday: an individual climbing time trial from Bédoin. The icing on the cake. In total, you'll come with almost 8000 meters of elevation and 270 km.

Quality over quantity

Haute Route is not just an organizer. The concept: quality over quantity. Small scale events, usually with about 500 participants. The quality: only the very best is good enough. Whatever gran fondo or sportive you compare it with, this is a totally different calibre. And yes, the price of €749 is serious money. But you get a lot for that. Name something and it's there: extensive supplies, perfect road closures, motorcycle guidance on the way, signalling, a nice finish village, technical assistance (also on the way), photo service, massage, pasta party, a goody bag, luggage service, jersey, a backpack and much more. Really, everything is taken care of. That's what more organizations will tell you, right. But Haute Route actually delivers, three days long. Not convinced? Take a look at the manual to you get an idea of the level of the organization. This is not the Mercedes among the organizers, rather the Ferrari.

As with all Haute Route events there is of course a time registration and a ranking. Although there are certainly a lot of strong riders at the start, most participants just join in to enjoy the surroundings. So it something for everyone.

CycloWorld gives away a ticket

You want to be here. And you can, because CycloWorld has one ticket on offer. Before we explain how you can claim it, we must first discuss the current travel advice. The route runs partly through the Vaucluse, and partly through the Drôme. The Vaucluse is at this moment considered a risk zone in many countries. This is mainly caused by the infections in the large cities of Avignon and Orange. It could mean you'll have to go in voluntary or even mandatory self quarantine when you get home. This is definitely something to take into account.

CycloWorld will be there as well with two riders. We have made a careful assessment and self quarantine is not a problem for us. Our advice: assess the situation and take your own decision.

What can you win?

One ticket for one person (value 749 euros). This does not include accomodation or transportation. You'll have to take care of that yourself.

How does it work?

It couldn't be easier. All you have to do is fill in this form. This can be done until Friday, September 18. One day later we will draw the winner at random. Again: only participate if you really want to and can participate. If you have won, we expect you can say yes immediately. CycloWorld editors and their family members are excluded from participation.
