1. De descent of the Passo Rolle
If you love fasts descents, this one is a must do! It goes downhill super fast almost 40 km, comparable to the descent of the Lauratet in La Marmotte. Starting from the pas, you'll begin with a number of switchbacks. From San Martino di Castrozza you will not need your brakes anymore; the last 15 km is it's full gas through tunnels in the valley. You will be below in the blink of an eye. Adrenaline guaranteed.
2. A full week cycling party in Feltre
In Feltre, the spectaculair Castelli 24H is organized the week before the Sportful. The entire village comes to see this 24 hour race through the historic streets. These two events guarantee an electric cycling atmosphere.
3. The Passo Croce d'Aune
The summit of the last climb lies only at 1000 meters, a small pimple compared the the earlier challenges. But this is a special one. The last 3 km will be hell on earth for all contestants, but if you reach the stop, you know you're home. From here, it's only downhill back to Feltre. Besides, the Croce d'Aune is holy ground. Here, on November 11, 1927 Tullio Campagnolo invented the quick release when he struggled to release his wheel. There's a monument on the side of the road to honour this historic fact.
4. The Sportful and Castelli-outlet store
Close to Feltre, in the village of Fonzaso, one can find the Sportful & Castelli outlet store. You're close by, so why not drop by... a unique opportunity to renew your collection, at a great prices.
5. The Giro stage of 2019
It was last year that the 25th edition of the Sportful took place. Even the Giro d'Italia honoured this fact. The 20th stage followed the exact course of the gran fondo route of the Sportful. This truly proves gran fondo riding is big in Italy. For you, it also means the course has fresh tarmac here and there.
