In short: Andermatt is the perfect holiday destination.
Switzerland is, of course, known as a cheese country. Rustic, farmer-style dishes such as cheese fondue, alpine pasta, rösti and raclette are on the menu everywhere. The price level is quite acceptable for Swiss standards.
Usually, local beer is served in a 0.3 litre glass that the Swiss call 'eine Stange'. Swiss wine is not well known outside Switzerland, as it is hardly exported. Nevertheless, it is certainly worth trying.

How about Grimselpass, Sustenpass, Nufenenpass, old Gotthardpass (with cobblestones), the Furkapass and the Grosse Scheidegg. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Just below the top of the Furkapass, you can find Hotel Belvédere. Once the setting for the James Bond film "Goldfinger". It is said that Sean Connery was a regular guest - even after filming. The empty hotel is a pilgrimage for every cyclist. Right next to the hotel, you can take a look in the ice caves, of which, unfortunately, are disappearing more and more due to climate change.
Andermatt has its own train station. From here, you can take the train up the Oberalp, or the other way, towards the Furkapass. Whichever way you choose, you will be treated to the most picturesque Alpine scenery imaginable. A guarantee for succes and last but not least: on time.
