This beautiful place in the heart of the French Alps is home to Hotel Au Bon Accueil, a beautiful authentic mountain hotel with a history since 1865. The hotel is located on the Parc des Ecrins, between all the famous cycle tracks and connected to the skiing area Les 2 Alpes. For us a warm home and for you hopefully a warm home from home! In any case, we and our team will do our utmost to give you a warm welcome: 'Au Bon Accueil'.
The hotel has 26 rooms and 52 beds. The rooms are authentic French, with comfortable beds and bathrooms. Furthermore, the hotel has a restaurant, veranda with beautiful views, two terraces and a cozy lounge with bar. In addition to all this, the specific wishes of our guests have also been taken into account, such as: a guarded bicycle shed for more than 60 bicycles, a large garden with outdoor bar and a real 'bicycle museum' with sitting area and TV screen. Many beautiful sports moments have already been followed closely here. In our bicycle museum you will find photos and newspaper clippings of 100 years of Tour de France and there are many signed tricots of heroes of today and yesteryear.

Hotel Au Bon Accueil is also known as an excellent place for lunch and dinner. Every evening we serve our guests a delicious 3 course menu, but even if you are not staying with us you are very welcome to dine with us! So you have the chance to experience the cozy "Au Bon Accueil" experience while enjoying a delicious meal in our cozy restaurant and a drink in our cozy bar.
To cycle all these routes you have to eat well of course! That's why, besides our extensive breakfast and a delicious 3 course menu in the evening, we also offer a pasta buffet in the afternoon! Every day we prepare an extensive buffet with 2 different types of pasta, 2 sauces (including 1 vegetarian) and every day a different 'special' pasta. This is included in the price of the cycling package and Marmotte package.
Situated between all the famous cycling colleges, the Hotel has a prime location for cyclists. We offer all facilities that are important for the cyclist, such as: sufficient and good food, good beds and showers, massages, a closed bicycle shed with alarm, workspace, extensive route descriptions, a daily pasta buffet and of course a cozy bar and terrace. The Tour de France is almost always nearby. Almost every other year there is a stage with arrival at the famous Alpe d'Huez, 7 km from the hotel. Sometimes a stage ends and starts in Les 2 Alpes. With the easily accessible ski lift from Venosc, 3 km away from the hotel.
During these periods you will experience an unprecedented atmosphere and internationality. In l'Oisans many cycling events are organized, such as Alpe d'HuZes (early June) and La Marmotte (early July). The latter is a 174 km gran fondo with 5000 altimeters over the Col du Glandon, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and the famous Alpe d'Huez climb.
One of the most important cycling events in the Alps is of course the annual Marmotte Granfondo! Hotel Au Bon Accueil is the ideal base for you during this event, as well as during the preparation days for the event itself. We therefore offer a special Marmotte package around this week.
In places where you really need it, we organize care posts along the route. After the climb of the Glandon, Télégraphe, Galibier, before the Alpe d'Huez and also at the finish we are ready. You deliver specially prepared packages to us and we will make sure that you get them at the point in question. Here you will also get water, cola, pancakes, watermelon and of course our cheers!
In preparation of the Marmotte we also organize extra things. The day before the event there is a real cake buffet in the afternoon. And in the evening a special extra extensive pasta buffet. So you can rest assured that you are optimally prepared for the big race!
A small selection of some nice routes from the hotel:
Villard Reculas / Alpe d’Huez / Le Freney d’Oisans, 80 km
Col de la Morte / Col d’Ornon, 125 km
La Garde / Le Freney d’Oisans / Les 2 Alpes, 50 km
Col du Lautaret / Col du Galibier, 120 km
Le Marmotton: Col de la Croix de Fer / Col du Télégraphe / Col du Galibier, 100 km
Col d’Izoard / Guillestre, 100 km from the foot of the Izoard
And perhaps the most beautiful route in Europe, where the hotel is located: La Berarde 27 km. The route leads to the old shepherd village 'La Bérarde'. The end of the route and also feeling like the end of the world. You will see beautiful mountain peaks, turquoise waters and lots of wildlife. From La Bérarde you can also make beautiful walks in the Parc des Ecrins.
Oisans, from iconic resorts to vast, untamed landscapes...
The Hotel is an excellent base for mountain bikers. From mid-June to the end of August the lifts are open and the slopes of Les 2 Alpes have been transformed into great downhill and cross country descents. For the daredevils among us, the Mountain of Hell is just around the corner and there are many ramps.
In the immediate vicinity of the hotel you can go for wonderful walks in the second largest nature reserve in France: the Parc des Ecrins. Perhaps the most famous is the two-hour walk to Lac Lauvitel where you can enjoy all the flora and fauna on arrival. Here the marmots sometimes eat out of your hand and the water is refreshing. There are also many walks set out from the small French mountain village of La Bérarde. The village itself is definitely worth a visit.
