Don't want to go cycling for a day and visit a big city? That is possible too, because the centre of Grenoble is only 45 kilometres from our hotel. It has 160,000 inhabitants and is the largest city in the Alps. It is therefore also called the capital of the Alps.
The old town centre is cosy with its many cafes and restaurants. A great place to stroll or do some shopping. You will also find numerous museums here. The Bastille is the old fortress and is situated on the steep slope along the river Isère. It is the city's most famous attraction and can be reached via the equally famous cable car.
