A bizarre accident occurred at the Sportful Dolomiti Race when an 80-year-old motorist collided with three participants. Despite the incident, the race continued, and Giuseppe Orlando (men) and Giulia Portaluri (women) emerged victorious.
The race was disrupted by a strange accident. An 80-year-old woman breached the course barrier and drove onto the track, causing serious injuries to four participants. She later explained that she was "on her way to Mass."
Italian Giuseppe Orlando, 24, clinched the victory in the men's race. He needed 6 hours, 6 minutes, and 43 seconds to complete new course. Patrick Facchini (IT) finished second, followed by Ricardo Michieletto (IT) in third. The top positions were dominated by Italians, with the first non-Italian finishing in 13th place.
It was an all-Italian podium in the women's race, with Giulia Portaluri taking the win, followed by Sonia Passuti in second place and Maria Elena Palmisano in third.
