Last weekend the UCI decided that this year's final UCI Gran Fondo World Series will be held from 15-18 September in Trento, Italy. It had been in the air for a while, but the date had yet to be confirmed. So now it's certain.
The UCI Gran Fondo World Series is a series of races in which participants in each age group can qualify for the World Championship. It includes both time trials and gran fondos. As the organization has become more and more professional over the years, it is now one of the big targets for amateurs. There are events all over the world and all UCI regulations apply. All info can be found on our special page.
Trento is the city where the gran fondo La Leggendaria Charly Gaul normally takes place. It is not yet certain whether this course will also be the route for the UCI final. Our guess is that the finish will be atop Monte Bondone; the most iconic climb in the area.

The patience of gravel enthusiasts has long been tested, but we learned that this week will finally be the unveiling of the UCI Gravel World Series. It will be a copy of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series with each participant being ranked in his age category. Big difference with UCI Gran Fondo series is that also elite riders of the highest level (World Tour, Pro Continental...) will be allowed to participate in the series races and in the Worlds.
