There are sportives that amaze even us. The GeMSe on 3 September is one of them. We'll tell you all about it, and as you've come to expect from us, we've got a give away for our readers.

The Stelvio is the beating heart of the GeMSe sportive. The longest distance is for real climbers and long-distance cyclists. Just think about it: Stelvio (from Prato) - Mortirolo - Gavia - Stelvio (from Bormio). You come home with 190 km and just under 7000m+! The event is ranked 3 in our CWiX-250 index, the global standard when it comes to determining the severity of a sportive.

Shorter courses available

Is this still just too much? There are also 3 shorter distances possible:

• 130 km / 3750m+: Stelvio (Prato) - Mortirolo for 75%, with finish in Bormio
• 150 km / 5350m+: as the 130 km + & the climb of the Stelvio from Bormio
• 170 km / 5350m+: Stelvio (Prato) - Mortirolo - Gavia

As far as we are concerned, all distances are worthwhile. Choosing will be difficult.

Charity

The GeMSe is a recurring event held annually on the first weekend of September. Earlier this week we also posted a report of last year's edition. Read it and get inspired. You may have noticed that the letters M and S are capitalized in the word GeMSe. That is not without reason. This year, the organization will transfer a fixed percentage of the registration fee per participant to the account of the MS Society. So you don't have to beg your friends for sponsorship money (although you can of course). The organization will take that task off your hands.
