Everyone who has done the Col de la Loze comes to the same conclusion: this is the toughest climb in France. In the Granfondo Col de la Loze by Brides-les-Bains you even climb it from both sides. Have you already had the Marmotte, Maratona or Les Trois Ballons? This gran fondo is the next big thing and you can start for free.
The Gran fondo Col de la Loze is not well known at the moment, but it will not take too long before it is on top of everyone's bucket list.
After the start in Brides-les-Bains, the route leads towards Moûtiers where the first climb starts towards La Thuile. Some tricky passages will not be an obstacle for fresh legs. You ride over a balcony with awesome views of the valley; don't forget to enjoy. After a short descent, the first ascent of the Col de la Loze follows from Brides-les-Bains via Meribel. In total it is 22.5 km of climbing, the last 7 km of which are car-free. Count on some steep passages, take your lightest gear. After you have passed the col you descend to the valley via Courchevel. Now follows the third climb of the day towards Champagny-en-Vanoise. For those who are still fresh, there is much to enjoy here. A short descent is the introduction to the final challenge: the second climb to the Col de la Loze. This time via Courchevel. Also 22.5 km, but numerically slightly less difficult. It are still over 1700 meters of elevation that you have to overcome with tired legs. And again, the hardest parts are saved for the last 7 km. Finishing on the col is of course a beautiful ending. You have then really put down a serious achievement.

Brides-les-Bains in Les 3 Vallées, is the perfect base for a gran fondo or bike trip. It is located in the valley at the foot of the Col de la Loze. Similar to Bourg d'Oisans (Alpe d'Huez) and Bédoin (Mont Ventoux). From here you have a large number of classic climbs within reach, such as the Col de la Madeleine, Cormet de Roselend, Val Thorens, La Plagne and Col de l'Iseran.
In addition, Les 3 Vallées is developing into a five-star cycling hotspot. In this area, the second large, car-free col has now opened La Tougnète. It is expected that this year the connection with Meribel will be realized.
