Wednesday 19 July sees the queen stage with the roof of the Tour scheduled. On the mythical Col de la Loze, the classification riders will bombard each other while the rest of the peloton will be happy just to reach the top. You can be there and ride a fantastic granfondo too. It doesn't get any better than this.
Friends and foes agree: the 17th stage on 19 July is likely to be a big spectacle. 5000 meters of elevation in total, two first-category cols, one second-category and the Col de la Loze of the outer category. This is also the roof of the Tour. The last seven kilometres are irregular with passages up to 24%.
If you go to watch, it is hard to choose where to stand. At the crossing in Brides-les-Bains? On the Col de la Loze? Or at the spectacular finish at Corchevel airfield? All these location are perfectly accessible.
Three days earlier, on Sunday 16 July, you can ride this climb for yourself during the Gran Fondo Col de la Loze. We give you the main reasons to take part:
