La Marmotte, the mother of all gran fondos, is advanced forward by a week. Instead of July 2, the event will be held on June 25 in 2023. The reason for the move is not entirely clear, but it seems they don't want to compete with the Maratona dles Dolomites (which will also be run on July 2). Registration opens on 8-11.

3 big gran fondos in 3 weeks

This change means that Europe's three biggest gran fondos will be run on consecutive weekends this year:

• La Marmotte: June 25
• Maratona dles Dolomites: July 2
• Ötztaler Radmarathon: July 9
