As is usually the case with UCI World Series qualifying events, there will be two races in Svendborg: a individual time trial of 24 kilometers on Saturday, June 8, and a day later a road race over 159 (GF) or 75 (MF) kilometers. The elevation profile is not known yet, but if we draw some random routes in the area we think the long route will have less than 500m+.
The organization behind the UCI World Series Gran Fondo Svendborg is the Danish Cycling Federation. They place a great emphasis on safety. 'We are working closely with the police and the municipalities through which the race passes to ensure safe routes for all participants,' the press release said.
The individual time trial course is completely closed to traffic. The route of both road races are completely closed to traffic for 60 minutes from the start of the race.
In addition to the sporting challenges, you can also enjoy a large cycling festival in Svendborg. The site is not in the air yet, but the registration is now open. There you can also find the necessary practical info.
