Plenty of options

There are, of course, many ways to stay active during autumn and winter. For example:

  1. Keep cycling. If you're independent and/or have a flexible work schedule, you can continue cycling during the day. And for those who can't but still want to keep riding, there are lights. Good clothing will do the rest. It's wonderfully quiet on the roads, though you may have to battle the elements at times.
  2. Indoor cycling. Retreat to your man (or woman) cave and enjoy Zwift, FulGaz, or another indoor platform. Sometimes (but often not) combined with an outdoor ride on the weekend.
  3. Prioritize another sport. Take a break from cycling and fully commit to another sport. Running has become especially popular in recent years, but it could be something else.
  4. Do nothing at all. Hang up the bike and slowly ease back into it around March 1st. Not usually great for your weight, but it does give you plenty of time for other things.

These are, of course, just examples.Let us know in the comments below how you plan to spend the darker months.
